Bainbridge Island
One of the first stops for many trips to the Kitsap Peninsula is Bainbridge Island, a scenic 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. Rustic charm with lovely winding roads and gardens makes this island community a favorite stop.
Known for its lively artistic community, Bainbridge Island has its own Performing Arts Center, movie complex and arts & crafts galleries featuring local and regional artists.
Enjoy shopping in historic Winslow, visit the Bainbridge Island Vineyard & Winery as well as some of Kitsap's trendiest cafes and restaurants.
Maps and information are available near the ferry terminal at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center. While you're there, take a stroll through quiet Waterfront Park on the banks of Eagle Harbor.
Just over 20,000 call the 36-square mile island home and enjoy its convenient access to Seattle, its gently rolling hills, pristine seashore and rich heritage. A bridge over Agate Pass connects Bainbridge to the rest of the Kitsap Peninsula via Highway 305.
Outdoor fun includes hiking, biking, equestrian trails, golf and tennis. Don't miss the concerts on Wednesday evenings in Waterfront Park or the Saturday Farmer's Market.
