Planning a summer family getaway? This 3-day itinerary highlights the best of the Kitsap Peninsula in August—think waterfront dining, outdoor adventures, sweet treats, and plenty of small-town charm to keep everyone smiling.

Day 1: Arrival and Evening Fun

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Arrival and Check-In

  • Arrive in the Kitsap Peninsula from the surrounding areas.

5:30 PM: Dinner at The Loft

  • Enjoy a delightful dinner at The Loft in Poulsbo, where you can savor a delicious meal with a beautiful view of the marina—especially stunning at sunset.

7:00 PM: Evening Sweet Treat at Island Cool Ice Cream

  • Swing by Island Cool Ice Cream for a sweet treat before turning in for the night and resting up for tomorrow’s adventure. Open until 8pm.

Day 2: Adventure and Exploration

10:00 AM: Kayaking or Canoeing in Port Gamble

  • Alternative: If you are here the weekend of August 10th, 2025 you can enjoy the fun Kitsap Farm Tour event at Winney Farm. Starting at 10am-4pm! Or Kayak first and head to the farm after!

12:30 PM: Lunch at Butcher & Baker Provisions

  • Grab a delicious lunch at Butcher & Baker Provisions in Port Gamble—enjoy patio seating, pick up an extra coffee, or take it to go and relax at the park across the street while the kids play.
  • Alternatives: Head to Kingston and try The Grub Hut, The Saucy Sailor, or J’aime Les Crêpes ​Crêperie
