IslandWood

IslandWood is an environmental education organization serving 35,000 children, educators, and community members throughout the Puget Sound region. We were founded to increase access to environmental learning opportunities, particularly for students attending under-resourced schools. We run an overnight program for schools and a graduate program in partnership with the University of Washington on our Bainbridge campus; day programs at parks, creeks, and treatments plants in Seattle, Woodinville, Renton and Tacoma; online courses for classroom teachers; community programs in Woodinville and Bainbridge; and play an active role in WA state legislative efforts to increase funding for student outdoor learning throughout the state.
