Farm Stays, Workshops & Seasonal Experiences on the Kitsap Peninsula

Washington is home to some of the most accessible, plentiful, and amazing local farmers markets around. These markets create expanded access to local food and a bustling hub of local commerce in many of our communities across the state.  If you’ve ever strolled through your local farmers market, you know the joy of discovering fresh-picked produce, handcrafted goods, and the friendly faces behind them. What if we told you that the farmers market is just the beginning?

What if there was a way to experience how a farm comes alive beyond the market booth? Where your next adventure might just include a hayride, a cider tasting, making your own wreath or even a cozy overnight stay in a glass greenhouse under the stars? No really, it’s a thing…it’s called agritourism, and it’s a lot closer than you may think.

So, what is Agritourism? At its core, agritourism is all about connecting people to the land and the folks who work it. It’s about experiencing a farm—not just shopping from it. Whether it’s for fun, education, or a little bit of both, farm-based experiences offer something special: a chance to slow down a bit, get your hands a little dirty, and support our local farms in a meaningful way.

Agritourism is more than just a day on the farm. It’s a win for visitors and it’s a game-changer for farmers, too. These experiences help farms diversify their income, especially in off-season, while also building stronger ties with their communities. And the benefits just continue down the line. They ripple outward to local restaurants, shops, and lodging – all who get a boost when visitors come to town for a farm adventure.

Looking for your next weekend escape or a spontaneous day trip? The Kitsap Peninsula is bursting with agritourism treasures. From u-pick flower fields and pumpkin patches to farm-to-table dinners, seasonal workshops and goat yoga (yes, we said goat yoga!), there’s no shortage of ways to immerse yourself in the local farm scene here. Whether you’re a foodie, a family looking for something fun to do with their kids, or just an individual looking to get out and take in all that Western Washington has to offer, Kitsap County has something in store for you. Check out some of our Kitsap specific agritourism finds below courtesy of the Kitsap Agritourism Coalition (KAC) group of farmers.

Not planning a trip to the Kitsap Peninsula anytime soon? No Problem, we have you covered. Washington’s agritourism scene stretches far and wide. Thanks to Eat Local First’s Washington Food & Farm Finder you can easily plan your own farm-filled getaway anywhere in the state. Just plug in your location, and you’ll uncover a gold mine of farms open to the public—each offering its own unique flavor of fun.

So go ahead—step off the beaten path and onto a local farm. Whether you’re picking berries, hanging with farm animals, or just soaking in the scenery, agritourism is your unlimited pass to a deeper, tastier, and more joyful connection with what Washington farms have to offer. We hope to see you out on the farm!
